Position Title: Director, Alumni & Partnerships

Location: Metro Denver; Expected 2-3 days/week in-person at the Moonshot Coworking Space 

Salary Range: $80,000 - $90,000

 

THE OPPORTUNITY

Moonshot edVentures seeks a Director, Alumni & Partnerships, to execute our alumni network strategy. Success in this role looks like leading the organization to reach our intended impact of increasing the number of equity-driven BIPOC and historically marginalized leaders sustained in positions of influence in youth-serving spaces in Colorado.

This person will be managed by the Managing Director, Schools & Programs, and will sit on the Program team.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

[70%] Execute the alumni network strategy in pursuit of our key goals in retention, leadership advancement, and community engagement

  • Design, facilitate, and manage programming focused on alumni needs around leadership, career, and skill development (e.g., workshops, fireside chats, group coaching, affinity groups, retreats).
  • Build and sustain organizational partnerships to support alumni with collaboration and organizational and career advancement.
  • Maintain a data and evaluation system to track alumni advancement, venture growth, and continuous improvement for existing ventures, including setting and tracking key goals and impact indicators, investing and managing team engagement, and reporting out metrics and stories.
  • Manage and maintain the suite of alumni services, which may include but is not limited to the following:
    • Redesign and manage small grant programs to support alumni's professional and personal growth and wellness
    • Draft and manage communication amongst the network (alumni newsletter)
    • Conduct outreach and leverage data for and from a yearly alumni survey 
  • Respond to 1:1 alumni requests as needed, ensuring that every alumni receives at least 2 meaningful touchpoints per year with the Moonshot team. 
  • Facilitate and support Fellows to and through their transition from active programming to alumnihood, including building strong relationships throughout their fellowship experience. 

[20%] Establish and strengthen community partnerships, both organizationally and individually, in support of Moonshot’s overall goals and priorities:

  • Manage and conduct external outreach and 1:1 recruitment for the Moonshot Innovation Space fellowship in collaboration with the Moonshot team.
  • Design and facilitate community programming in collaboration with the Office Manager in the coworking space (The Station) to attract potential tenants, raise alumni visibility, and facilitate partnerships.
  • Serve as a representative and thought leader for Moonshot locally and nationally through meetings, conferences, and events.
  • Support and collaborate with the team on alumni engagement and outreach as needed for other organizational strategies (e.g., funder visit, workshop panel, selection committee). 

[10%] Team-wide Responsibilities

  • Attend weekly team meetings and manager check-ins, quarterly stepbacks, and an annual retreat; complete team-wide responsibilities and asks as needed (e.g. providing input for strategic planning, supporting an annual event).
  • Work to achieve meaningful outcomes, contribute to building a strong team and culture, and commit to own learning + development aligned to Moonshot Core Values.
  • Serve as an ethical and responsible organizational steward of Moonshot both internally and externally.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

  • Fair Wages: The salary range for this position is $80,000 - 90,000.
